This new track, “Radio Pop Music”, was first envisioned in 2003 after the Martin Bashir documentary “Living with Michael Jackson” aired on ABC. The mix was completed in 2007 after the release of Paper Trail and will be included in the upcoming Somnambulants album (in progress). In honor of Michael Jackson’s memorial event, the track is being released early via iTunes and other digital distribution outlets. For a limited time, you can download Radio Pop Music for free. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Michael Jackson for all that he has done for music.

Local LA collaborative Big Whup Industries will release a compilation CD called What is Happening featuring Facts on File’s “Keep It Together” alongside tracks from other local LA bands.

Facts on File journeyed down to SXSW to compete with 8 of the best unsigned bands from across the country to battle for top honors at the Dickie’s Battle of the Bands.  Judges included No Age, Brooklyn Vegan, and GZA from Wu-Tang Clan.  Facts on File won 3rd place in the overall competition, but they deserve top honors for being the only band that got GZA to stand up and dance during their performance of “Treat Me Right”.

The Somnambulants song, “Take it On”, is  featured in the title opener for PBS’s 2008 Roadtrip Nation series.  Another song, “Water Colors” will also appear in two episodes.  Both songs are from their latest album, Paper Trail, which is available at CDBaby and through all major digital outlets including iTunes.

More information on Roadtrip Nation from the PBS website:

Roadtrip Nation’s fifth season spans two continents; as one team of college students from the University of Miami cross the United States, another team of young Australians hit the road “down under”. Despite living half a world away, both teams of roadtrippers share a common quest to connect with inspiring individuals who have discovered their own roads in life. Roadtrip Nation 2008 documents these journeys of self-discovery in a free-spirited, adventurous series that encourages people all across the globe to move outside their comfort zones and explore the world.
